    Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus to merge with Hino under landmark deal

    Daimler Truck and Toyota Motor Corp. have inked a Memorandum of Understanding that will see the two companies collaborate on advanced technology development, while merging Mitsubishi Fusu Truck and Bus (MFTBC) with Hino Motors. Under the agreement, Daimler Truck, MFTBC, Hino, and Toyota will collaborate toward achieving carbon neutrality.     Carriers urged to focus on safety as another truck hits overpass in B.C.

    The B.C. government and trucking industry has renewed calls for carriers to focus on safety as another truck struck an overpass in the province – the 18th such incident since Dec. 10, 2021, according to the B.C. government website. A commercial tractor-trailer struck an overpass at 264th Street westbound in Langley, at 7 a.m. on May 29, a B.C. Highway Patrol official told TruckNews.com.     Global Trucking Trends: Transport members back European charging network

    Transport members in the European Parliament have backed a deal to deploy more charging stations and hydrogen fueling infrastructure along the Trans European Transport (TEN-T) network. Among the commitments, electric charging stations for trucks would need to be installed every 120 km on half of the European Union’s main roads and offer outputs of 1,400 to 2,800 kW depending on the road. Half of them would need to be deployed on the TEN-T network by the end of 2027. Parking areas would each need to include two charging stations by the same year, while hydrogen refueling stations would need to be spaced no more than 200 km apart by 2031.…
